Obituary for Johnnie Mae “Julia” Holloway Mrs.

On Wednesday, October 21, 2020, God looked upon his garden and saw fit to call Johnnie Mae Holloway, at the age of 79, to come home with him and rest. Her struggle is over now. Johnnie Mae was born on December 10, 1940, to the late Grady and Sidney Mae Walton. She attended school in Burke County, Georgia. She grew up to be an exceptional cook and enjoyed cooking for family and friends. She was employed and retired from Samsons Manufacturing Co. after 31 years. Johnnie Mae joined Bottsford Spring Missionary Baptist Church at an early age. She loved the Lord and served faithfully on the usher board. She later joined New Birth Missionary Baptist Church, where she also served faithfully as an usher. After she united in marriage with John Holloway on January 14, 2006, she moved to St. Petersburg, Florida, where she joined St. John Missionary Baptist Church under the direction of Rev. Norris Martin. She was a faithful member for 15 years until her health failed. Johnnie Mae was preceded in death by six siblings: Johnny Lee Walton, Lloyd Walton, Grady Walton, Jr., Charlie Walton Sr., Elizabeth Hankerson and Tommie Walton, Sr. She leaves to cherish her memories: her husband, John Holloway; four daughters: Crystal (Michael) Davis, Ann Sapp, Truemiller Zimmerman and Dionysia Lawson; fourteen bonus children; eleven grandchildren: Roumelia, LeTonya, Renato, Antoinette, Altwanette, Alton, Alyssa, Drequan, Ashlynn, A’Lya and Jalen; nine great grandchildren; two godchildren: Dominic & Lexi; one brother: John Wesley Walton of St. Petersburg; two sisters: Mary A. Walton and Barbara Walton of New York; a special niece: Vernell Evans; a special extended son, Alton D. Sapp; a devoted friend, Julia Mae Pugh and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
