Obituary for Evelyn E. Smith Mrs.

Evelyn E. Smith was born on August 03, 1940 in Waynesboro, Georgia to the late Mose and Evelyn R. Evans. At an early age, Evelyn followed the Lord in baptism and became a member of Thompson Bridge Baptist Church. Evelyn was educated in the Waynesboro School System, where she graduated high school in 1960. She matriculated to Savannah State College. Evelyn was employed with Burke County Extension Services for several years, and was also employed at Blakeney Elementary School system as a para-professional. Evelyn was married to Bennie Smith Jr. and from this union, three loving children were born. Evelyn was a loving wife, mother, and grandmother. She loved planting flowers, cooking, playing the guitar, singing, and watching old movies. She loved spending time her family especially her grandchildren. She was preceded in death by two sisters and six brothers. Evelyn leaves to cherish memories: two loving daughters, Tierres S. Herndon and Terrell Smith both of Waynesboro, Georgia, one devoted son, Bennie T. Smith of Hephzibah, Georgia, two grandchildren, Erin White of North Augusta, South Carolina and Travis W. Herndon III, of Waynesboro, Georgia, one godson, Jamie Dukes of Augusta, Georgia, three sisters, Deloris (Bennie) Parris of Hephzibah, Georgia, Mary Abrams of Hephzibah, Georgia, and Annie Bell Chandler of Alexander, Georgia, one brother, Norman Evans, Sr. of Waynesboro, Georgia, three sisters-in-law, Vernell Evans and Bernice Evans, both of Waynesboro, Georgia and Mary Evans of Greenville, South Carolina. Evelyn leaves a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
