Obituary for Charles Perkins Mr.

Charles Perkins was born July 11, 1950, in Burke County, Georgia to the late James “Shaw” Perkins Jr. and Rosa Lee Perkins. At an young age, he joined First Baptist Church of Sardis, Georgia. He worked many years in the lumber mill, where he retired from Louisiana Pacific in Waynesboro, Georgia. He was united in holy matrimony  to Gertrude Cooper Perkins of Hiltonia, Georgia. He was a loving an devoted husband, father and grandfather and was always there to do whatever he could unselfishly. Charles Perkins departed life peacefully on September 29, 2020 at Doctor’s Hospital in Augusta, Georgia. He leaves to cherish his memories: a loving wife, Gertrude Perkins of Sardis, Georgia, one son; Mario Ellison, two grandchildren; Lyric Ellison and Joshua Ellison of Atlanta, Georgia, four sisters; Frankie M. Robinson of Lithonia, Georgia, Marie (Johnson) Moore of Waynesboro, Georgia, Karen Perkins and Doris Walker of Sardis, Georgia, five brothers; Alvin Perkins, Calvin Perkins, Ronnie Perkins, Karoy Perkins of Sardis, Georgia and Jack Lovette of Augusta,Georgia, three sisters-in-law; Henrietta Bryant of Rochester, New York, Effie Lee Reedy of Sylvania, Georgia and Mary Lee Prescott of Hiltonia,Georgia, four brothers-in-law; Clyde (Claudia) Cooper, Sylvania, Georgia, Harmon (Edith) Cooper of Statesboro, Georgia, Lucious (Dianne) Cooper of Sylvania, Georgia and Raymond Cooper of Sylvania, Georgia, one devoted friend; Randy Herrington of Sardis, Georgia, one devoted family friend; Vernita Baker of Sardis, Georgia, a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
